Evil Dead: The Game is a survival horror video game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Saber Interactive & Boss Team Games, and based on the Evil Dead franchise. Evil Dead: The Game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on May 13, 2022. It will be released for Nintendo Switch at a later date. It will feature co-operative gameplay and player versus player (PvP) combat. Evil Dead: The Game developer Saber Interactive wanted to surprise fans with a new release time. Alas, instead of playing the game much earlier, players on all platforms started experiencing issues. A number of players are unable to play the game on the PlayStation 5 at the moment. If you are among them, you are probably receiving the “The online service is unavailable” message. Here’s what we know about the issue and why is Evil Dead The Game not working on the PS5.
Evil Dead The Game Not Working on PS5, The Online Service is Unavailable
As we have been informed by official sources, Evil Dead: The Game was released at midnight, local time, on May 13th across the globe. This was a change from the previously planned release time, which was 4 pm CET / 3 pm BST / 10 am ET / 9 am PT. This was surely a welcome surprise for gamers who wanted to jump right into the action. Unfortunately, the sudden change resulted in a series of unexpected issues as well.
If we talk about PlayStation, it seems that many players who own the game on PS5 are currently unable to play the game. When they try to log in, they receive the following message: “The online service is unavailable. Please check your internet connection and try again later."
But there is nothing to panic. The issue does not appear for all PS5 owners, as some players report that they are able to play the game while others can. “I’m game sharing with my brother and he can log on instantly,” wrote u/SickySlendy. “I’ve deleted the game and redownloaded it my internet speed is 218MB per second so the message about not being able to connect seems a bit off, any known fixes would be appreciated.”
For information, let us tell you that Saber Interactive has acknowledged the issue. The official Saber Support account stated that they will release an update “that should address connection issues on PS5”. Although, they didn’t provide a time window when can we expect the update to roll out. For now, it seems the only thing we can do is wait for them to fix it.
