OnePlus on Friday decided to increase its partnership with the Oppo company. The company has announced the integration of the codebase of OxygenOS and ColorOS on its official platform. The company further said that “OxygenOS as always remains the OS for global OnePlus users, but is now built on a more stable and robust platform than ever before. This will be applicable to new devices in the future and existing devices that are currently under the maintenance schedule. It will come with Android 12 via an OTA update.

OnePlus 8, 8T, Nord, Nord CE will get updates

OnePlus is said to be improving a new software schedule to improve the lifecycle of some popular smartphones including the OnePlus 8 series, OnePlus Nord and Nord CE.

The company confirmed that the OnePlus 8 series and newer devices will receive 3 major Android updates and 4 years of security updates. OnePlus Nord and new Nord / Nord CE devices will get 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security updates.

OnePlus also revealed that flagship devices released before the OnePlus 8 series will follow the previous schedule of 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security updates.
