The Sims 4 is a 2014 social simulation game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It is the fourth major title in The Sims series, and is the sequel to The Sims 3 (2009). The Sims 4 was announced on May 6, 2013, and released in September 2014 for Microsoft Windows; versions for PlayStation 4, and Xbox One were subsequently released in 2017. Werewolves are one of the most famous and enduring fantasy creatures. Often appearing in media of all kinds – including video games – it’s not difficult to see why they are so popular. Existing as a sort of dark, animalistic counterpart to our urban civilization, they represent a mirror into what humanity could be if we regressed back into more primitive ways. Naturally, many people find this very appealing, at least from a fantasy perspective. As such, it’s no wonder that the latest expansion for The Sims 4 – Werewolves Pack, is all about these creatures. Besides the many things you will be able to do as a Werewolf in the game, a new Fated Mates system has also been added. In this guide, we are going to take a look at the Fated Mates mechanic in The Sims 4 Werewolf pack and have it explained.
Sims 4 Werewolf Fated Mates Explained
If we talk about werewolves, they are based on wolves, so they share many of their traits. This includes fur, claws, teeth, sharpened senses, and other animal-like behavior and instincts. And, like Gray Wolves, the Werewolves in The Sims 4 have the option of forming long-lasting monogamous relationships with each other. This is called the Fated Mates system. When you flirt with another Werewolf, you will get the option to form this type of relationship. You can then choose to either accept this and become Fated Mates with that Werewolf or to refuse and turn them down.
We should be careful with this. Because of the way this system works, you may only have one shot at a Fated Mate relationship. This means that if you refuse a Fated Mate, you won’t have another chance at another Fated Mate. So choose who you are flirting with very carefully when you are a Werewolf.
