This week saw a great episode of WWE SmackDown. The highlight of this week’s show was Roman Reigns trying to make The Usos the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Let us tell you, this change in Tribal Chief came because of Paul Heyman, however, despite getting two chances during this week’s show, The Usos failed to become champion.
Also during this week’s show, the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Blair vs Bayley match was announced for the Hell in a Cell PPV. At the same time, IC Champion Apollo Cruz registered a big victory in the match against Kevin Owens. Although, this week’s show was quite good but some mistakes were also seen during this show. In this article, we are going to mention 3 big mistakes that were seen during this week’s episode of SmackDown.
3- Seeing the same thing every week in Corbin-Nakamura’s storyline in WWE SmackDown
The storyline of King Corbin vs Shinsuke Nakamura became very interesting after the debut of Rig Boogs in WWE SmackDown and it seemed that WWE has a big plan in place for this storyline. If seen, the main focus of this storyline is on the Crown and Corbin is constantly trying to get his Crown.
However, now the same things are being seen every week in this storyline where Corbin tries to run away with the crown but due to Rick Boogs, he is unable to succeed in this thing. This week on SmackDown, Rick once again stopped Corbin from taking the Crown. WWE shouldn’t be repeating the same thing over and over and this storyline needs something new.
2- No storylines and disappearances for the main Superstars in WWE SmackDown
A few weeks ago in WWE SmackDown, Alastair Black attacked Big E and hinted at starting a feud with him, however, WWE surprised everyone by releasing Alastair Black after that. However, Big E hasn’t appeared on WWE television since the attack and it’s hard to say why he isn’t making a comeback on screen.
Keeping a big star like Big E away from the screen is a very wrong decision made by WWE and Big E should be made a part of the new storyline by making him come back as soon as possible. Anyway, right now there is a dire need of stars like Big E in the mid card division of the blue brand. Sasha Banks has also not been seen in SmackDown for a long time and it would not be wrong to say that she is sorely missed in the women’s division. It looks like Banks may return through an episode of SmackDown on July 16.
1- Roman Reigns finds no opponent for Hell in A Cell in WWE SmackDown
At this time in WWE SmackDown, the storyline of Roman Reigns and The Usos is being liked the most by the fans. Let me tell you, this week SmackDown saw the Tribal Chief change of heart and he announced that he wants to see The Usos become the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. However, despite getting two chances during this week’s show, the Usos could not become the new champion. It is worth noting that this week there was no build-up of Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship storyline.
At this point in time it is difficult to say who is going to be the next challenger of Tribal Chief but going by the bookings made by WWE, it seems that WWE does not want to match Roman Reigns in Hell in a Cell 2021. Anyway, there are only two episodes of SmackDown left before this PPV, so it is very unlikely that the company will book Roman Reigns matches for the upcoming PPV in a hurry. However, if Roman had found his opponent this week, the company would have had two weeks to build the feud.
