Lost Ark won six-game awards in various categories at the Korea Game Awards 2019. Developing the game cost about $85.4 million. It is a fantasy massively multiplayer online action role-playing game (MMOARPG). It is co-developed by Tripod Studio and Smilegate’s game development subsidiary Smilegate RPG. It was fully released in the South Korean region on December 4, 2019. The game is releasing in European and North American regions on February 11, 2022, where it will be published by Amazon Games. Lost Ark is a melting pot of different influences and tropes. It combines elements both from eastern and western mythologies and RPG conventions. As such, it’s no wonder that, among the many creatures present in Lost Ark, the Mimic also makes an appearance. Ever since its first introduction all the way back in the Monster Manual for AD&D from 1977, it has remained one of the most iconic fantasy monsters. When it comes to video games, players are most likely to know this monster from titles such as Baldur’s Gate 2 and Dark Souls. In Lost Ark, Mimics drop a puzzling key when you defeat them. But what does this object unlock and where can you use it? Our Lost Ark Key Swallowed by Mimic guide is here to provide the answer to all of these questions and more.
How to Use Key Swallowed by Mimic in Lost Ark
If we talk about mimicry, it traditionally takes the form of a treasure chest. What's more, when overzealous adventurers rush to open and loot them, they are in for a terrifying surprise. Instead of opening and revealing all kinds of riches, the "chest" spits out teeth and attacks the player. Fortunately, the mimics themselves are not very dangerous enemies. With them, it is more about the sudden terror of expecting a reward and instead coming face to face with a pair of jaws.
In the Lost Ark, when you reach the Ozhorn Hill area, you'll encounter mimics there - especially among the Nevatia ruins there. There, you'll fight many of these mimics. Once killed, each one will drop a "Mimic Swallowed Key" item. Its description: "Mimics aren't picky eaters, I guess." Definitely doesn't give you much to look forward to. So what is this item for? Well, sadly, this item really has no in-game use. It's a lore tidbit – about how mimics will even devour keys which have once been used to lock them.
