How to Download New World Open Beta
Downloading the Open Beta is an extremely straightforward process once you know where to look for. Do note that even if you have played the Closed Beta earlier, you will still need to re-download the game.
Download New World Open Beta (Steam)
- Open or Download the Steam Client.
- Head on over to the Steam Library Page for New World
- Scroll down until you see an option titled Join the New World Open Beta Playtest
- Once there, click on Request Access
As soon as the Open Beta begins, you will receive an e-mail on whichever one you have linked to your Steam account. There, you will find a link to download the Open Beta.
Note: You will also be able to download the Open Beta from your Steam Library after you have requested access.
When can I Request Access for the New World Open Beta Playtest
You can start requesting access for the New World Open Beta from Sept. 8 at 7:00 AM PT (2:00 PM UTC.) Requests will be catered to on a first come first serve basis by the developers.
New World Open Beta Timings
The New World Open Beta will begin from Sept. 9 at 7:00 AM PT (Players will receive e-mails a few hours earlier.) The beta will last for 3 days till Sept. 12 at 11:59 PM. You will not be log in to the game’s servers after the Open Beta ends.
Will Progress Carry Over From Open Beta to Main Launch?
All progress will be wiped out by the end of the Open Beta of New World. Players will go through a completely fresh start once the game officially launches. This is because the game will go through a ton of balance changes and tweaks before the eventual final release.
Any Changes in the Open Beta from Closed Beta?
Yes, there will be tons of changes according to the developers. However, patch notes for everything that will be changed are not available just yet. We’ll be updating this section with the patch notes as soon as they are here.
