Destiny 2 is a free-to-play online-only multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie. It was originally released as a pay to play game in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. It became free-to-play, utilizing the games as a service model, under the New Light title on October 1, 2019, followed by the game's release on Stadia the following month, and then PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms in December 2020. The game was published by Activision until December 31, 2018, when Bungie acquired the publishing rights to the franchise. It is the sequel to 2014's Destiny and its subsequent expansions. Destiny 2 has just gone down for server maintenance on March 10 2022 and we have the complete details for you right here. As of yet, the hotfix update seems to be finding out the reason behind the server downtime. This will be a minor update since it is a quick hotfix for the previous patch.
As of yet, the servers will be going down for maintenance on March 10, 2022, at 5:00 AM PST (1300 UTC) and will be back up on March 10, 2022, at around 9 AM PST (1700 UTC). Destiny 2 Servers Down Right Now
The following statement was released by Bungie Help regarding the maintenance work going on right now:
So far, we do not know what this update will bring in. However, since Bungie has mentioned that this is a hotfix, we can assume that it will focus on bug fixes and adding quality of life changes. After the massive Witch Queen update, there were some bugs present in the game that players were reporting. Bungie is taking a step and fixing them in this latest hotfix. We will keep you updated as soon as any new information comes out.
After the update goes live, players will also be allowed to change their Bungie name one time by logging in to Bungie.net.
