If you want to know how private matches work in Apex Legends then this article is for you. Four years after the game's release, Apex Legends players are finally getting the long-awaited feature to create their own private games and set up tournaments. This guide explains how to create and join a custom game in Apex Legends.
How to Create a Private Match in Apex Legends and Join Custom Lobby?
As we all know Apex Legends was released in 2019 and players and organizations around the world demanded a feature that would allow them to host their own tournaments. It sounds strange, but one of the world's most popular multiplayer shooters didn't have the option to create custom lobbies until now. However, things are changing with the Spellbound Collection event. Apex Legends Private Matches are finally here, bringing tons of new possibilities to host tournaments or just have fun with a big group of friends. So, how to create or join a private lobby in Apex Legends?
For information, let us tell you that its process is quite easy. You can select the "Private Match" option via the Game Mode selection button. Switch to the Private Match tab, and you'll be presented with the option to create or join a match. You can see what that menu looks like in our featured image above. If you want to create your own lobby, just press the "Create Match" button.
You must have a unique tournament participation code in order to join a match, which you must enter before pressing "Join Match". This code should be provided to you by the organizer of a tournament or the person in whose lobby you wish to join. Players hosting private matches can invite up to 60 players and 5 observers to their lobby. We'll share more details once Response releases their FAQ, as they previously announced.
