At least, the hugely popular esports organization G2 Esports has decided to surprise its fans with an interesting new idea. The Berlin-based organization has just announced its plans to open a fast-food chain called G2GO.
If you are taking this as an early April Fool's joke, then it is completely wrong. Let me tell you this is a real thing. As the slogan says, fans will be able to visit multiple locations and taste a variety of dishes “flipped by professionals”, as the slogan says. For this occasion, G2 Esports has partnered with Seasonic, which will operate the chain.
“In a lot of ways it’s crazy we didn’t do this earlier, gaming and food are a perfect marriage. There’s no better way to connect with fans than by filling stomachs while we work to fill our trophy case” says Carlos Rodriguez, G2 Esports Founder and CEO, in the official announcement.
We regret to inform that at this time, not much has been revealed about the chain. We know that the initial plans include 8 G2GO restaurants. The exact locations are yet to be revealed, but we expect them in both Europe and North America. According to current plans the grand opening is scheduled for September 2022.
