What is the Best Armor in Horizon Forbidden West?

There are six types of armors, each focusing on different skills like Hunter, Trapper, and more. To find out more about the skills, check out our Forbidden West’s beginner’s guide. On top of that, there are four types of rarities – uncommon (green), rare (blue), very rare (purple), and legendary (orange). Needless to say, the rarer the armor, the better stats it will provide.

Oseram Artificer

After testing out tons of armors, we concluded that the Oseram Artificer is the best armor in Horizon Forbidden West. Getting the armor can take some time, but you will unlock it easily if you know what you’re doing.

This boosts the stats in the Warrior skill and is considered a Legendary armor. Here is what it offers in terms of stats:

How to Get the Oseram Artificer

Keep in mind that this can be a bit time consuming, but considering the reward, it is well worth it. With that said, let's find out how to get the Osram Artificer in Horizon Forbidden West.

Speak to Keruf

Firstly, you must find Keruf and talk to him. He is seen at his Salvage camp. You’ll naturally come across this location while making your way out of the starting area. Don’t worry; you cannot miss this location. Once you speak to Keruf, he will tell you about the competition to make the best armor.

Complete all Salvage Contracts

Speak to all the Salvage hunters and complete their contracts. Four Salvage contracts are spread in various locations on the map. Luckily, the first one is right next to Keruf when you speak to him. So, you can complete the first contract immediately.

Report Back to Keruf

Once you have completed all four of the Salvage contracts, go back to Keruf and interact with him. After listening to all the characters’ dialog, Keruf will reward you with the legendary Oseram armor and 5000 XP points.
