There is good news for Age of Empires fans, you will be glad to know that the iconic Age of Empires franchise will soon be getting its fourth installment. With pre-orders now open, here's how you can pre-load the game on both Steam and the Microsoft Store to be the first to play the game. Whichever version you buy, you'll be able to pre-load the game.
What's more, with updated graphics, new units, civilizations, and new net-codes, Age of Empires IV appears to be a promising installment, especially as the developers provide us with full match footage ahead of the game's release. How To Pre-Load Age Of Empires IV
In order to pre-load Age of Empires IV, you will first need to have the game pre-ordered on either Microsoft Store or Steam. Here’s how you can do so:

Pre-ordering Age of Empires IV on Steam / PC is extremely simple. Here’s how you can do so:
- Open the Steam Link for Age of Empires IV
- Click on the pre-order option depending on the edition you wish to purchase.
- Aftere you have pre-ordered, you’ll be able to download and play the game once it is released.
Xbox Game Pass / Microsoft App Store
The game is also available from Microsoft’s official platform for PC, here’s how you can get it:
- Open the Microsoft Store Link for the Game
- You will now be able to select the edition you wish to purchase.
- Once the game is available for pre-load, you will recieve a notification to be able to do so.
